Weight Gain

Hi,

Ive been eating 5meals a day however I belive these meals do not contain enough calories as I have hit a stale patch in my training and the weights I can lift seem to have plateuxd! Hence prob down to lack of calories and less muscle gains.

Therefore I have toyed with the idea of purchasing weight gain. I do not wish to gain to much fat yet I am keen on supsidising the lack of calories in my diet to suppliment muscle growth.

Does anyone have any opinions on weight gain and if it help with muscular development in terms of as a meal replacement shake rather than fat development? OR Would it be better just to use protien shakes?

Thanks,

Flip

I personaly would recommend taking some protien shakes. If your goal is to gain weight, then you need to up your protien intake. have a shake in between meals during the day, and take a cassien protien before bed. Basicaly you need to pick wether you want to bulk or cut, cause you cant do both at the same time. If bulking then make sure your eating as clean as possible. Also it helps to switch up your workout routine when you plateau. Hope this helped. Good luck

For straight calories, protein shakes aren't usually sufficient (protein shakes just aren't that high in calories - might as well just eat bigger portions). If you're looking to supplement, what you want is a weight gainer, e.g., N-Large, Cytogainer, Serious Mass, Pro-Gainer.

We're talking about meals between 900 - 1300 calories in each serving, from good calorie sources (unsaturated fat, complex carbs, protein).

You have of course tried everything else to get over your plateau? Like switching up your routine, cycling in some different motions, taking a week off completely, etc?

If so there are plenty of quality weight gain products out there, do some research, visit your local store and see if there are samples, then once you settle on one you can buy bulk online to save money.
