Here's my problem.

I get weighed on Tuesdays, and this past week I've been bad with my eating and bad with exercising, so.. I got weighed yesterday to see if I gained any/lost any/whatever. Here is what I got:

Tuesday: 10st 13.6lbs
Saturday: 10st 13.8lbs

See the 6 and 8 numbers? Not sure what they are, but I still don't like it. It could be anything, I know.. like clothes, heavy things in my pockets, a belt I didn't wear on tuesday, bladder and that.

The thing I'm frustrated about is that I've not lost any. I didn't expect to either, but with four days left till weigh-in, should I exercise a little more, and eat a little less?

Right now I exercise when I feel like it. Just got a treadmill so I only really go on it cause its new. I need a routine. I've not gone on it for more than 15 mins.

Right now I eat 1500 calories per day. I used to have 1200 per day, but upped it since people advised me to on this forum, and I also checked out the Harris Benedict Equation.

I was thinking of lowering my calories to 1350-1400 a day until Tuesday, and exercising more. Not just on the treadmill but in daily life too.

Please help, I feel sick to my stomach that I've not lost anything and I could be gaining.. probably gaining everything I've lost in total. I don't want to do that.

Thanks

That's not even enough to be considered a gain. It is just normal fluctuation, don't worry about it. Don't do anything drastic to try lose by tuesday, think in terms of steady long term goals.

You said in the past week you havn't been exercising or eating well- maybe if you elaborate on that a bit?

A .2 difference is only 4 oz, and if you were eating badly, I would consider it a good thing if that's all you gained. And the previous poster is right, it could be any kind of fluctuation, nothing to freak out about.

I think (my own little opinion here) that if it's making you sick to your stomach, then you are a little too wrapped up in the daily numbers. Back off the scale a little. :)

Do you weigh/measure your food? For calorie counting, sometimes guessing your food isn't good, because we are so used to larger portions, we don't know how much a cup of something actually is. I would suggest doing that for a while, to make sure you are really eating what you say you are.

Getting in some more daily exercise could be a good thing, as long as you don't overdo it. Make sure you take a day or two of rest, your body needs it.

And good luck!

For the past few weeks (before this week) I've been walking to and from the bus stop (15-20 minute walk), and also not been eating junk food like chocolate biscuits, chocolate, crisps, etc.

This week, I got a bus closer to my house (5min walk), and my boyfriend/his mum brought me home. I've had two slices of chocolate cake, a few chocolate biscuits, crisps, and chinese food. Deep fried spring rolls.

Basically I've come off the horse and I need to get back on it.

I weigh and measure my food, yep. If it comes in packets/cans/whatever I look on the pack for the calories in it, but if its things like peppers, porridge, etc.. I weigh it. I do guess a lot but I always go OVER, as in.. a meal comes to 294 calories, I round it off to 300. I never make it less.

I will definitely keep going and try to never do this again lol. I will keep to 1500 calories a day, and I will exercise more. I was also thinking of buying some weights.

Thanks anyway guys, you've helped a lot. xx
