Sport Weekend Bloat

Sport Fitness
So, as you probably know, I'm relatively new to this way of eating (5 times a day, protein & carb), but I thought I did rather good last week... during the week that is. Over the weekend I was with friends, and ended up drinking, eating just 2-3 times a day, and very unhealthy meals.

I'm trying to get back on track as quickly as possible, and I'm already trying to prepare so that next weekend is much better (as in a cheat meal or day, not a whole weekend) but I'm wondering if there's any advice on what to do today to help with the bloat, etc, from not eating right.

I'm drinking a ton of water, and I'm sticking to my 5 small, healthy meals a day today. I'm just wondering if anyone else has any advice.

What I do is just drink a ton of water, load up on protein, and wait it out. For me, it usually takes 2 good days to undo the damage of 1 bad! Sorry, hopefully somone else can help more!

Weekends are the worst, and planning is the key. I think it is because during the week we tend to have more of a set schedule, weekends are more spontaneous!

I'm right with you! I just had a weekend of hanging out with people and destroying my diet. Let me tell you, sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you get back on track. That's what happened to me after I ate half a tub of twix ice cream! Luckily I only gained 2 pounds!

It's ok though, I'm back on my diet since yesterday. Yesterday I was bloated like you so I was only able to eat like 1400 calories (little for me!). I just couldn't fit in anymore! I would say that you can continue with your small meals, lots of protein thing but if you can't eat as much per meal as usual don't worry about it. By tomorrow you'll be hungry again and will be able to eat as many calories as you are supposed to when you are eating right.

Next time I have a chance to ruin my diet I'll remember how terrible I felt about it the next day. Both mentally and physically.

The bloat is because your body doesn't want the bad stuff anymore. It's actually an allergic reaction. When you eat/drink something and feel blaoted, or get a runny nose, or watery eyes... it's an allergic reaction. Your body doesn't want it.

A lot of times when people start eating well... the quickly realize their cheat meal or cheat day isn't really a big cheat. They don't want that icky feeling.

Best thing to do is get back on track with a healthy menu and drink water.
