Sport Wearing out half way through workout...

Sport Fitness
Hi! I am a 40 year old guy in very good physical shape (230 lbs, 36 in waist 48 in chest). However, I am starting to find that, on my heavy weight training workouts, I am starting to wear out about half way through. I am moving a lot of weight, but I still have 30 minutes to go and really have to force myself. Typically I do a protein drink after, which goes a long way to making me feel better.

Should I be eating something specific just before my workout. During my workout? Thoughts?

What do you eat before your work outs right now? Also, how long do they last? If your pre workout nutrition is good, then maybe you just need some carbs during your workout in order to keep the effort up.

I usually eat a cup of yogurt mixed with a quarter cup of oats. That used to be enough... but now that I am getting older... Dunno.

If your tierd, more protein wont help, you need to rest and keep trying to go for more next time. It could be anything from lack of sleep to losing weight to your body ageing (muscle is in decline from when your around 30-35 onwards) you may also be building more muscle and your body needs you to stop so it can repair the overuse you have so far done. Maybe you have gotten better to the point where your taking less time to get to that level of overuse. You could always take lower weights....

Also, if your not sure what it could be, ask for a blood test, could be your in need or more iron (internally :) ) or have some other form of inbalance.
