Hi,
I'm John. I'm a 240 lb 6 ft security professional. I used to be 260+, but lost just over 20 lbs by, well, not exactly dieting, but by just eating better. Unfortunately, much of that was gained back (through a small bout of depression), but now I am at 240.
My work requires my walking over a mile each hour per shift, carrying about 10 lbs of stuff (which is how I re-lost the gained weight). But now for the last couple of months I'm stuck at 240, neither gaining nor losing.
With summer coming I will be riding my bike more, and will be starting a yoga class and joining a gym in the coming month.
Really, though, my concern is not so much losing the weight (but that is important, of course), my real concern is that I have osteoarthritis (the 'wear-and-tear' arthritis) in my big toes, right knee (since childhood), most of the joints in my fingers, right wrist, right elbow, and left shoulder. Losing the weight will ease this burden some, but it makes exercising very difficult, painful and impossible even.
I sure hope you guys can help me through this, if, that is, I am able to get through this.
So that's my story,
