Hi Everyone!!

I've been lurking for many months now, decided to join and still read quitely but NOW... I've decided to come out of the closet! :p I've been at this weight loss gig for 4 months now and I want to say THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH to all of you for being such an inspiration to me! *LOVE YOU*

I've managed to loose 9 pounds and 17.25 inches and I'm proud of myself....BUT (isn't there always a but(t) :p in the way) these last five pounds are stuck like SUPER GLUE! :(

I know that many are agains diet pills but(t) -here I go again :p - I went to GNC today, after weighing in only to loose 1 pound, and the guy talked me into this Ripped System 21 day system. I'm loosing my motivation because I feel like I'm working so hard and I've hit a brick wall. I only lost 1 pound this month, despite all my effort. I don't mean to sound whiney, so please excuse me...guess I just needed to vent a little.

At any rate, has any one tried or heard anything (good or bad) about this Ripped System? I've been googling it all afternoon and can't come up with any real information about it, regarding reviews that is.

I've totally changed my diet (which wasn't quite as tough as I thought it'd be, but DANG is it expensive to eat right!!), increased my activity level and I now understand the importance of breakfast and incorporating 2 healthy snacks into my day. I feel like, in theory, I'm doing everything right, but these last 5 blasphemous (lol) pounds won't leave...so I thought maybe some help wouldn't hurt. What do you guys think, bad idea?

Sorry, I tend to get a little long winded sometimes....:(

Thrilled to be here!

Hello Dave!

I don't know what the ripped system is! I am suspicious of any system - they usually involve someone getting rich at the expense of others - but I'm willing to learn!

Does it involve the clean eating of nutritious foods in a healthy balanced diet that cuts below calorific requirements without reducing health or muscle, combined with a programme of exercise? If it is, then go for it. However, if it is another quick fix slimming diet that involves pills, tonics, supplements, carb starvation, starvation in general, or buying a book or 'system' - then I would recommend approaching it with skepticism. Go for it if you have the time and money - but consider if it would be better to spend money on good fresh food and or a gym membership. I'm not criticising the programme - just suggesting that you might get better value from your own plan of diet and exercise - you can't buy your way out of fat, but you can educate yourself for free on the internet about nutrition and exercise.

Losing weight is simply about learning what your body needs and should be getting - good food, and good fun.

GNC are usually good about health and wellness.

I think the Ripped Programme is probably to help you turn those last five pounds into muscle instead of having them vanish...right?

Nothing else is working at the moment so why not try to make those flabby five pounds into toned muscle. :)

Thanks for your input! :) ...but er um...it's Daye, not Dave. No problem, I've had that mistake made on a couple of other boards. :p

But yes, it does emphasize, encourage and include all of the points of concerns that you highlight. He makes it very clear that the pills aren't magic, that it will take a proper diet and a fitness plan...both of which are included. I already have a gym membership (Curves), have a clean diet (well...with an occassional piece of chocolate, but I try REALLY hard) so THAT part is not a stretch for me. The system is actually created for body builders to enhance muscle growth while reducing fat, so that's not a concern either. It comes with a book that explains all of the theory behind it, as well as defining concepts of metabolism and the like...which is nothing that I haven't read before with all of my research over the past 6 months or so.

I've been working very hard at my own plan (strength training, Curves, clean eating, and appropriate amounts of sleep), as I stated above...I just need help with these last five pounds that I can't seem to move. I'm not looking for magic, I've worked very hard and plan to continue to do so, all I'm looking for is some assistance...which this appears to be able to offer. I guess I'll just let you know how it goes.

That's exactly why I went to GNC to search versus the pharmacy at Wal-Mart. And yes you are correct, I want to loose those 5 pounds of icky fat and prayerfully gain muscle. Like I said in my reply to ToothlessFerret, it was made for Bodybuilders to gain muscle and loose fat efficiently. He(Craig Stevenson) doesn't advice loosing more than one pound per week and has the formulas in the book to help you determine your BMR and RMR, etc and really tries to help you understand the relationship between the science and what you're trying to accomplish. The system includes a nighttime fatburner, a daytime fatburner and a "competition strength diuretic" that you use the last few days of the plan (I don't plan on using that, I'm concerned with FAT not water gain/loss), and a fat loss book that outlines the specifics of the eating and fitness plan in addition to an in depth explanation of everything from how the body utilizes fat for energy to extreme body building stuff (it's a given that I'll be adapting those things).

I plan on finishing the book this afternoon and beginning the plan tomorrow. I would've finished last night, but I spent all my time (and the rest of my money  ... :p ) at the bowling alley last night. GREAT FUN though! :D

Welcome to the site :) You have done brilliantly so far, so good luck for those last few stubborn pounds!

Thank you SO much! ...I'm starting to think maybe I'll just keep trugging along and not use this Ripped System. Honestly...I'm scared.

Welcome!! Have you tried starting your own diary here so that we can get to know you a bit better? The only suggestion I can think of is to up the level of weights on your strength training, more muscles burns more fat.

I think I'll start a diary today! :) As for the weights, I was thinking the very same thing as I laid in bed last night.

I'm taking the system back to GNC.

hello again,
maybe your body is telling you it is at its "ideal" weight. Thats what i'm wondering about me.
Keep up the good work...you have been very encouraging to me...

 GIRL, don't say that!!! ROTFL I don't know maybe you're right, but we shall see what happens. I'm going to give it more and see what happens. If not then I'll accept that this is the size I'm going to be. :)

Hope you're having a great day so far! :)
