Hello, I've finally started to make progress to reaching a healthy weight after years of being very heavy.

43 Days ago I started the Keto diet, I weighed 220.5lbs, and have lost a total of 21lb so far. So ridiculously happy.

3 weeks ago I also started the Couch to 5K podcast that aims to slowly build you up to running 5K over the course of 8 weeks. It has all been going really well, so I have set myself a big target in just under 6 months time.

I've signed up for a Half Marathon. I'm slow, very slow... but improving slightly with each session. I've done the math, and as long as I keep training for the next 6 months I should be able to complete the half marathon. No idea what sort of time I'll be completing it in, but I will complete it even if I'm walk/crawling over the finish line.

I know I'm going to want to give up when it starts to get really tough during the winter, so I've decided to fund raise for Cancer Research which will stop that. Cancer Research is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. They are entirely funded by the public. With your help, we can ensure more people beat cancer.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Any support is very much appreciated, even its only verbal. I'm going to need every little bit of motivation I can gather.
