Sport wat the heck is an OMEGA?

Sport Fitness
I see these "Omega" labels these days and they're suppose to be THE stuff.

What is it? I think it's a type of polyunsaturated fat that suppose to be really good for u or somehting and it's hard to come by? INFO PLS!

It's a very good fatty acid.

Hard to come by? Nah. They are a type of functional fatty acid. Their is Omega 3, 6 and 9. In the typical, North American Diet Omega 3's and 6's (higher) are way out of balance causing problems. I believe this condition contributes to weight gain, acne, etc.. But anyway get your fLiPpinG omega 3's by taking fish oil caps or flax oil. Benefits are GYNORMUS.

Mainly fatty acids can be divided into two groups: saturated ones and unsaturated ones (depending on molecule conformation).

It is known that saturated fatty acids cause much more health problems such as atherosclerosis, thrombose, heart disease than unsaturated ones.
Omega fatty acids are part of the unsaturated fatty acids family (even poly-unsaturated), thus when eating fat it is better to eat Omega than anything else... but keep in mind that it remains fat!

Agreeing with all of the above. Omega-3's are some of the most potent natural anti-inflammatory supplement. The hype is all about its ability to prevent aging, alzheimer's, heart disease etc...essentially all ailments begin or involve inflammation which Omega-3's will help control.

I take my fish oils after I work out every day, along with my antioxidants.
