Hi everyone i want to start a protein diet for weight loss, i was told by a friend of mine, who is into body building. To eat (porridge) or (egg white omelette/1 slice wholemeal bread) for breakfast, as with porridge need some carbs and in the morning is better. Then eat another 3-4 meals per day like fish or chicken, with salad and vegetables. 2 pieces fruit per day, 8 glasses ice cold water per day. Also cottage cheese and nuts in with my diet. I work out at the gym 5 times per week 10 hours cardio per week and 5 sessions of weight training. Just wondered what people think of this diet for weight loss. I'm female and want to lose around 2 stone and tone up.

i certainly do feel more energized and the weight loss is amazing on a high protein diet. Just need more motivation this week and get myself back to the gym, have slackened off alittle last week. What brings you Jackson to this site?

i was told ice water speeds up metabolism, don't really know if any truth in it. I don't know much about vegetarian diet, but i guess a few people on this will know a lot. Have you looked at the recipes on here.

Hi:

I think its good. You may also want to try doing a body cleanse and take a protein drink.

I used to live in NYC and my weighed 120 pounds. I would walk everywhere - like 20 miles per day. Then we moved to Virginia

and I gained 35 pounds!!! I was at 153. Imagine my horror. I immediately joined a gym and the instructor told me I should do a body clean first which will eliminate toxins and help me lose weight and build my muscle tone. You should google this.

So for my diet I did the body cleanse which I got at brasilbodycleanse.com and got SafSlim from GNC and loaded up with Cliff bars which is available at Martins or Wholefoods. As of today I weigh 133 - I been doing my regimen now for 3 months. I still have more poundage to go but am happy with the results. I almost forgot I saw a documentary on TV about food and the Nutritionist said as soon as you wake up drink a full glass of water( b4 you eat breakfast or have coffee) He said this should get your metabolism moving. I don't know about icecold. But I guess it wouldn't hurt - just do it as soon as you wake up.

hi maria funny you should mention protein drink my fitness instructon told me to have protein drink hour before workout and simple carb and protein after wortout. So have purchased shakes and going to give them a go. I'm from the UK and we don't have the same shops as US.

Cheers

Lindsey.
