Want to lose 50 pounds in 6 months

Im turning 16 on July 21 and im going to be going into my Junior year of high school and ever since middle school i have been over weight and ive realized that it was time for a change my Freshmen year but its hard for me to even start a diet without a job or help from family to start to buy healthy food. I have tried to diet but every time it last like a week because I dont know what to eat and there is never anything healthy in the house. So basically what im asking for is to help from someone to point me in the right direction to start eating right. I need a full meal plan for breakfast,lunch and dinner. Exercising is not the hard part I can get that problem down. Right now im 5'8" and im 230 pounds but when people look at me they dont think im that much because of the way my body is built i have big shoulders ive been told so i dont look like i weigh that much. Im trying to lose 50 pounds in 6 months because i want to go for basketball and baseball this year and in 5 months we start training. Any help is appreciated I really need help with the meal plans thansk guys and girls.
 
It can be difficult when you do not have full control of the food you have available but it can be done, even if the food selection is not ideal. Knowing portion sizes becomes even more important in this situation.

The first thing you need to do is to start recording all of the food you currently eat so you can have a good knowledge of your starting point, any of the food tracking sites are good for this and will give you a breakdown of not only the calories your eating but the fats, protein and carbs also. you will also begin to see where you can make sensible cuts and improvements in your diet based on the food you have available.

with this information others on the forum here can be a bit more detailed in the advice given.
