Want to get back to the good old days?

So heres the story

I used to be really fast and athletic in abt grade 8-9-halfway thru 10.Like i use to play all the sports really well especially football, baseball, and cricket. But my greatest asset was always SPEED. I was fast, easily top 3-5 in my high school of 2.5k students at any time without ever really working at it except playing those aforementioned sports. But then i started staying at home ,eating MAJOR fast food, stopped playing those sports(i still play competitive cricket but i get by in the fitness factor which i suck at), and used my studies as my an excuse to be a couch potato pretty much. So now, my weight has risen to 165-170 from 130 when i was at peak running speed. Now in the past month or so, me and my friends are always having old discussions about athletics and stuff. So we had a discussion recently on who was the fastest and most athletic and they all said it WAS me but how i let it all go and stuff and i just felt pity for myself that i cant do anything athletically now and even some random chubby guy can outrun me. So now that school has ended, i have decided to take the first few steps to getting back to my old self and perhaps even better. Im 19 now btw. So i was wondering if you guys can direct me to any cardio programs you know like consisting of jogging, sprinting, maybe skipping etc. My goal is to get back to 130-135 and build muscle in the lower body and have final weight of somewhere around 140-late 140s. I knw diet is an important factor so ill look into that as well.

Thanks in advance

Dude! you are way too young to be a hasbeen! I knwo all about that, and it's a life long adventure to keep it from happening.

There are stickies uyou can read in the running and cycling section. Or google to find programs you want. But how about this? Go make yourself a jouirnal in the journal section, and start being accountable with some other peeps that have the same goals for better health.

We are already doing it, join us and get your groove on!

or- have another burger and milkshake for me! I surely want one! Get chili and cheese please ;)

Hey man

thanks for the advice. I sure hope the motivation doesn't die soon. I know the first few weeks are going to be the hardest. Anyways, i have looked into some stuff and found a program, c25k program, and im also looking into other interval based programs. If anyone knows any good speed based interval training programs perhaps they could share them with me(higher difficulty preferred as i want to push my self as i get more into it).I think ill include a skipping regiment in there too just to mix things up.

It would not be so hard for you to get back to your old tone body. At least it is very much possible to me. As you had mentioned that you were used to involved in so many sports. Keep it mind that things has already changed a lot than you realize. But it does not suggest that you can not get your old tone body.

What i like to tell you that just start it and make a plan for yourself. Give your best to maintain it. Avoid Jung food by any means. Make sure you reschedule your routine in an advanced level time to time.
