Walking or Running?

I just started to workout everyday. I started out walking one mile a day and I have gradually worked my way up to between 3 to 5 miles a day, and I am gradually working my way up to about 10 miles a day or so. It takes me about 15 mins to walk each mile... [I walk around a track and whatnot.]

I was wondering how many miles of walking equals one mile of running? Or, how does that work and whatnot? I know you are supposed to go by time rather than miles, but I just want to make sure that I can lose weight pretty fast.

[thanks ahead of time. :)]

Walking at a moderate pace (3 MPH) for 60 minutes will burn ~245 calories on a 155lb male. Running at a moderate pace (6 MPH) for the same time will burn ~710 calories.

Switch to running (at a jogging pace) and you will complete your workout in 1/3 the time!

Don't forget to properly warm-up and warm-down before and after running (1/4 mile (~5 minutes) walk before and after is sufficient). And, spend time stretching afterwards as well.

Keep up the good work!

I have a failry large chest and I always wear a sports bra that is very tight, usually a good quality in a size small. Or, wear two. And I run 5 miles a day with no problems.

I can't help myself. I do love big breasts. I think they are fantastic. Oops... There I go again. Don't get me wrong, I respect women, it is just my weakness.
