Walking in morning and Weightlifting at night

Height: 5 feet 11 inch
Weight : 102
Goal weight : 70-75
Age : 20

Will it be good for me if I start a program like walking for an hour in the morning and doing weightlifting at night at my gym?
I want to start this routine because when I go the gym, I spend a certain amount of time doing basic cardio like cycling and treadmills which I don't find enjoyable at all.
Looking for expert advice regarding this!
 
I'm not an expert, and I think talk of weightlifting does call for the voice of experience, so I won't attempt advice - meanwhile, hello, and I'm sure an expert will be along soon! :)
 
Walking in the AM and weight training in the afternoon or night is great.
