Greetings all this is our First walking challenge. the goal is to have the most miles in a month. PLEASE use the honor system.

5 week (30 day challenge)

First place: most Miles.

Second place: Most lbs lost.

Prize: Self confidence, better health & bragging rights.

what will you need?

to create a thread on here that will be updated.

a Pedometer, cell phone that tracks miles using an app ( like runstar) or some other form of tracking or GPS.

RULES

Rule 1: you don't talk about walk club.(joke)

Rule 2: DO NOT count your total daily steps.
This is for extra ( above and beyond your daily life ) miles.
This means if you wear a pedometer and you count your total daily steps you must walk extra in order to compete in the challenge.

Rule 3: Honor system. Please do not lie or round up your miles.
If you walked 2.9 miles then put 2.9 miles.

Rule 4: do not over do and injure yourself

Rule 5: Have fun!

01 September : 3.2 miles this morning yeeehar (off to a good start) ha ha Actually only thought my walk was 3 miles, but there ya go, the pedometer said 3.2, who am I to argue, every .2 counts hee hee

02 September : 3.2 miles Thursday

03 September : 3.2 miles Friday (Weigh in day today):banghead: (Lost 7lbs) Total loss : 17lbs

04 September : 6.4 miles Saturday

05 September : 3.2 miles Sunday

I'm training for my first half marathon Sept.19th so this will help keep me motivated to get out running!! I'm assuming running is ok since it's titled walking??

I don't care if you run. miles are miles in my book, its just for fun anyhow. Also update when you can just keep track of your miles and post them when you can.

also we will go easy on you. its not about winning its about getting out there and getting in shape.... winning helps too. i think (not so)Chubbygirl is in first place. that girl can really go!

Korrie, that is a fantastic Idea! yes when its all over ill add the totals for the month.
 
Im starting now, at week 3, so i probably wont be able to compete in the challenge, but its good for me anyway to keep track of my walking and see how everyone else is doing. I'll do the challenge for sure next month!!!

It's probably too late for me to start this challenge now. Are you doing another one soon? I can measure in kms when I'm at the gym but I have no idea how far I walk on my paper round days and that's the biggest chunk of my walking... Any ideas? I've tried a pedometer before and it was very inaccurate...
