I was hoping this thread would open but as it hasnt i have decided to just do one.

Afraid i have completely ripped off the old one!!

Walking Club March walking challenge

Greetings, Welcome to the Walking March challenge. the goal is to have the most miles in a month. PLEASE use the honor system.

31 day challenge

First place: most Miles.

Second place: Most lbs lost.

Prize: Self confidence, better health & bragging rights.

what will you need?

to create a post in here that will be updated daily.

a Pedometer, cell phone that tracks miles using an app ( like runstar) or some other form of tracking or GPS. (map quest: not recommended )

most treadmills will track mileage for you.

RULES

Rule 1: DO NOT count your total daily steps.
This is for extra ( above and beyond your daily life ) miles.
This means if you wear a pedometer and you count your total daily steps you must walk extra in order to compete in the challenge.

Rule 2: Honor system. Please do not lie or round up your miles.
If you walked 2.9 miles then put 2.9 miles.

Rule 3: do not over do and injure yourself

Rule 4: Have fun!

Friday 3/4 : 0 miles. Went into the city for shopping and to an auction.
Saturday 3/5 : 2 miles outside.
Sunday 3/6 : 6 mile hike. What a nice hike I had. So beautiful outside.
Monday 3/7 : 2 mile walk outside. Hike tomorrow morning.

Ok i seriously love this idea, im currently training for a 85 mile walk in June with the hopes of getting at least to the "half way point" of 32 miles :). I currently do alot of my milage at once at the weekend and hope as soon as the days get lighter ill be out during the week days and plus nothing helps me doing anything more than a bit of competition lol

Agreenmess, How many days are you going to walk to do the 85 miles? That's a loooong walk! Good luck with your training.
 
Hi BigLyn10, the 85 miles has to be done within 24hours!!! Im seriously just hoping to get to the "half way mark" of 32 miles though if i feel fine i will continue as much as i can, cannot wait though, very excited about it :)

I see no one else has posted anything since the first week and this is now the 3rd week in this challenge.

So did everyone just drop out?
 
Although NO one else finished this challenge, I did. I walked and hiked 92 miles for march. I am proud of myself for that. I have also now lost a total of 50 lbs.
