Viactiv Multi-Vitamins for women

I was wondering what everyone thinks of these?? I have been taking them but I wondered what others thought of them.

I remember trying them several years ago and they messed up my digestion. Even 1/2 of one each day caused problems, so I stopped. I mentioned this to one of my co-workers and she started to laugh--apparently when she was having a chocolate craving one time, she ate like 1/2 of a can  of them and then she was doubled-over in pain for several hours.

I've tried them and the calcuim ones. I didn't like them either. I got sick of chewing them! and the taste wasn't all that great.

BTW, a doctor that I was talking to advises people to test calcium supplements to be sure that they dissolve properly. To do that test, put a tablet into a glass of white vinegar and stir the solution occasionally. If after 30-45 minutes, the tablet is still not completely dissolved, find a different supplement to take.

I'm thinking that the viactivs would dissolve completely. :)

Hmm...ok...so I spent $6 on ****. Great. Now what do I do? I can't swallow the horse pills that most people call vitamins. I want to take something, but what can I take?

You can try a powder "multi" supplements.

There is liquid calcium, E,D and many others are tiny individual pills.

You can crush up a tablet multi and sprinkle it in drinks.

Thanks for the information and giving me other choices. Unfortunately, I can't spend $25 (or even $15, for that matter) on Vitamins. I just can't afford it. And before you say, "isn't your health important to you?" I say, yes, of course it is. However, right now, we are financially slammed right now. We can't afford groceries at this point, never mind a $25 bottle of vitamins.

Does anyone have a CHEAPER brand??

I wont say that as i have been in the same situations plenty of times.
though i can recommend you are likely better off with diet alone then getting any multi thats cheaper then that.

Crap. that's what I was afraid of. But the stuff at the grocery store and what not is less than $10/bottle usually. Does that mean it's not good?

Don't worry you will cause damage to your body or anything by going a while without a multi.

Think of it this way, In general the cheaper it is for you to buy the cheaper it is for them to make the cheaper the ingredients they make it with the more likely they take short cuts here and there.

How about this:

Or this:

Alright i looked at both, the first
and the first warning i see is it claims here 'No Artificial Colors" yet when investigating the ingredients list i find "Yellow 6 Lake,Red 40 Lake"
It also contains "Corn Starch,Aspartame,Modified Food Starch,Artificial Flavors and last but not least Mtodextrin which i list because they MISSPELLED it" all of which are things that should not exist in such a product.

Now to the other product,
"Corn Starch,FD&C Yellow #5 (tartrazine) Lake, FD&C Yellow #6 Lake,FD&C Blue #2 Lake,Maltodextrin,Dextrose,Glucose,"

those are the things that just instantly stand out to me.

 this so sux.....

Its Ok, like i said its not that bad to go a while without a multi. Just simply try to eat your fruits and veggies whenever possible. Its always better to get as much as you can from Whole Foods anyway.

Try not to stress, its far more unhealthy then simply going a while with out a multi:p
