Very Newby to HIIT. Help :D

Tabata?

So, im 14 :p and i'm a beginner. I weigh around 130. But its a mediacore % of body fat,and 5:8ish. I'm in decent shape.

Should I try Tabata sprints, 20 Second sprints/10 second rest(walk)(all out) 8 intervals?

I live near right beside a 400 m track, so I have pretty much non-stop access to it.

You think I should sprint rest in an oval. Or sprint, stop, turn around, and sprint back?

And anyone have an idea how much calories this burns on average, with a 3 minute warm-up, and 3 minute resting recovery at the end.
