Sport Veggies

Alright, I'll admit it. I'm a total newb when it comes to veggies. I never liked them as a kid, and now that I know I should be eating them, I have no idea which ones to try, or how to cook them. I buy frozen corn/peas occasionally and will just microwave them. I could probably handle making corn on the cob, but i'm a college student, and frozen is just easier for me at this point when it's an option. I've been thinking of buying some canned beans to try.

So basically, does anyone have any veggies they can suggest, and how do you cook most veggies?

Also, I like baked potatoes, but are they okay to eat around dinnertime? I'm just not sure because they're a starchy carb, and I think those are supposed to be eaten earlier in the day.

Thanks!!!

Frozed veggies are fine. I just put a bunch in a pot, add a little water, cover it with a lid, and occasionally check it until they are tender enough for me to eat. Cheap way to have steamed veggies.

Baked potato at dinner is fine. Have a protein with it though :)

I buy a variety of frozen veggies (broccoli, cauliflour (sp?), okra, snap peas, green beans, red/green peppers). I throw a mixture into a saucepan and add a little bit of soy sauce and stirfry them...adding water so they don't scorch... If ur watching ur salt....its not a good idea. But I'm not so its wonderful...
