Sport Vegetables and where they go

Sport Fitness
Ok, I hope this isn't a silly question

I'm following the 6 small meals, one protein one carb at each plan. Where do vegetables fit in there exactly? Protein? Carb? Varies? I have a feeling it's probably the latter.

Any help would be appreciated!

Vegetables would fall into the carb category.

just eat as many veggies as you can...can have simple at breaky and post workout without going overboard and the rest in veg is the easiest plan to follow

kitty veggies are good. Try to get lean protein with each meal. Its not bad to have fat either. I like to have P+F meals for breakfast and before bed even for losing weight!

Most veggies are freebies when it comes to meals. The obvious exceptions are the high starch tubers like potatoes but eat as much of the cruciferous veggies like broccoli and cauliflower and greens like spinach, kale, baby arugula and romaine as you want. Carrots fall somewhere in the middle of the starchy tubers and a fruit so call them half a serving of carbs.

Veggies are considered carbs. They are amazing carbs though :) Eat them at each meal as your carb source. For 1-2 meals per day add in a starchy carb as well. Starchy carbs are things like a sweet potato, baked potato, healthy cereal, healthy bread, etc.

fats - walnuts, almonds, fish products (tina etc), avacodos are great...maybe easier to have in supplement form as well to get required amounts
