Valentines Day ?

Spending it w/ my DH :)

Valentines is a pretty special day for us. It was 4 years ago on this V-day that my DH returned home from his first 15month deployment in Iraq. We were married the previous September (04') on his two weeks R&R home. 7 days after we were married he returned to Iraq...we never had a honeymoon nor did we get to really have those first few months of marriage the traditional way. It was all long distance. He came home on Valentines night (05') :) so we like to think of valentines as our anniversary :) :) Although we give/get gifts for both, hahaha.

This Valentines DH will probably plan a night out for dinner and we'll just hang out together. I did however ask if we could go on a weekend ski trip...we'll see what he does about that. I plan on getting him some new oakley sunglasses, he broke his last ones and maybe something else...still working on it.

I love Valentines !!

Dragging people out for a heart healthy walk along the lake front and maybe drown one or two that annoy me... then i'm gonna peg conversation hearts (the big ones) at annoying couples...
Valentine's day is a stupid holiday...

however, look into MArch 14 - far better...

lol, oh mal, you make me smile :)

I am doing a 5K run/walk with my parents and BF... as far as gifts most likely just sentimental cards and we will propably all go to breakfast after the race.

I spent my Valentine's Day alone, as usual, sobbing hysterically into a bag of Dorito's while I watched romantic movies by myself, wishing I was Jake Gyllenhaal. Gylenhall? Glenyhull? Glad Bag? Steve Guttenberg?

Spent Valentine's eating my birthday cake and having unhealthy amounts of lasagne. My birthday is on February the 14th, which is all that makes Valentine's day special for me.

We don't celebrate Valentine's day, or Mother's day, Father's day and all that humbug. It's just one more way for businesses to make money. I don't need a calendar to tell me on which day in the year I should tell people that I love them. I do that all year round, whenever I feel like it. I get flowers of my hubby every other week, or something else he knows I'd like. Sometimes just an email saying 'I love you' or something simple like that. Not because the calendar says so, but because he feels like doing it and thinks I deserve it. I do the same thing.

Same goes for mother's day...do we really need a calendar to remind us to love our mothers? I certainly don't. I make sure she knows, whenever I talk to her, email her or see her. Not just once a year.

Dear/Darling Husband or Damned Husband depending on what he has or hasn't done in the mind of DW :D (Dear/Darling Wife Damned Wife :D
