I just wanted to vent about Valentine's Day. I don't think I have EVER had a good V-day! It's way too much hype and everyone feels like they have to impress their significant other. I'm honestly a somewhat romantic person, so I have no issues with with opening up to the person I'm with, but for some reason Valentine's Day always blows up in my face... I could go on about all my bad past experiences, but this one takes the cake:
I made plans with the girl I've been seeing for a little bit to have a low-key dinner at my place, then go and meet up with friends for a birthday and engagement party... nothing too nuts, mainly because we haven't been seeing each other that long. I get a call an hour and a half AFTER she's supposed to be at my place (I was thinking I got stood up!) and tells me that her ex boyfriend showed up at her place with an ENGAGEMENT RING! She said no, thank goodness, and came over to my place for a little but was in a bit of a crappy mood from the days events. How are we supposed to have a nice evening when her schmuck of an ex decides that he screwed up 8 months ago??! :action10:
/my rant - feel free to contribute any bad V-day stories, they're always fun to talk about...
