Sport V8

Sport Fitness
I heard someone mention that vegetables were a VERY important part of your diet. Personally, I don't eat too many, not a fan of the taste.

I was wondering if the drink V8 was an adequate replacement for this? I believe it claims to be the daily amount of vegetables youre supposed to take.

Thanks for any help.

I think it's lacking fiber. Just force yourself to eat vegtables even if you don't like the taste.

While V8 (the original vegetable juice kind (particularly the low sodium version), not some of the newer kinds) is certainly better than many of the other things you can drink, it shouldn't really be considered a substitute for whole vegetables.

Personally, I do not like "drinking my calories", it takes less work for the body to digest as compared to hard food items, and can increase hunger pain "frequency" due to quick digestion. But, I do once in a great while with a meal.

Veggies are a critical component to one's diet, there is no questioning this.

IF eating hard vegetables are difficult for you, you could use a blender if you have one. You could throw tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, celery, carrots (etc) ---whole with skins attached (most nutrients are near the skin), and make your own, and would be healthier, IMO. You would just suite to taste, and could add in lemon juice, etc, etc. You can make more of it, and when thinking "bulk" wise, its cheaper to make than buying bottles of V-8, and more near natural, and......you KNOW how it was made (for the most part).

I don't do this very often, unless its accompanied with a complete meal: I make my own tomato juice from my home grown tomatoes on my patio. Pretty simple really. I just throw in fresh ripened tomatoes directly off the vine in the blender, put in a few Basal leaves, a little garlic salt, a small amount of lemon juice, and its very good! :)

Just ensure you are getting in the other macro nutrients in your diet.

Best regards,

Chillen
