Sport Using lean body mass to calculate protein intake

Sport Fitness
I've read in a few places that your protein intake should be 1g per lb of lean body mass, not per total lbs. It said the reasoning was only your muscles need the protein, not your fat. Any truth to this?

Yes, this is a good rule for people who are overweight.

Well if you're 100lbs, that would be a 14g difference. If you're 200lbs, it'd be a 28g difference. Either way I don't think it'd matter much. Personally I'd go with 1g/lb if you're under 15%bf (which you are).

I concur, with the all-knowing boss, that is a good ballpark figure to shoot for.
