Hi all:)

Need a little help here - I am going away this weekend doing lunch, movies and shopping (Saturday)

:( I have been stressing all week I don't want to deviate from plan especially since I've done my first weigh in. But I'm scared.:(

I will leave Saturday morning after breakfast so that meal is covered we will probably have lunch while out but I am not sure about the dinner part. And as for getting in 3 liters of water I'm not sure how to manage this either.

Any suggestions of where to eat or what to eat that is close to Cohen's diet.
I will contact the clinic this morning and also check with her.

I know that any meal outside the Cohen's programme is a deviation anyway. SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE ANYBODY OUT THERE HELP.

:( :( :( ....... SAM

SAM don't stress too much!
i had that happen to me too. Think protein and low carb veges. For example at the Samford Pub they do a chicken & cucumber Shish Kebab on a bed of lettuce with Miso paste (entre size) i have had that as a meal. didn't eat the whole lot as it was still bigger than normal Cohen's portion size.
At another place i had a Halomi Cheese (yes i know it's not mozzerella but its still good protein!) Vege stack (Grilled zuccini, tomato & green pepper etc with balsmic vinegar) it was yummy and didn't effect my weight loss. Just make sure you get close to the portion size you would normally eat and that the meal contains mostly veges that you are allowed.
What about ordering a plain garden salad and get them to add a hard boiled egg?

We have often done shopping and the movies at chermside. I take a Pump bottle of water with me which i carry around, and crackers and fruit in my bag. I have a fantastic time, and refill my water bottle whenever i empty it!

When I'm out for lunch I generally go for either a Greek Salad, or a garden salad with chicken breast.
If you have a Sumo Salad outlet near you, they will do a salad to order, so you can select the type of meat and veges you want in it. Most other cafes etc can manage that without too much difficulty.
For dinner, I would normally have a steak and salad. I find its easier to get a salad with the right type of veges than it is to get cooked veges. Just remember the portions are going to be much bigger than you are used to. But if you are going to eat some extra, then its better to eat extra protein and veges than it is to eat cake and biscuits!
Hogs Breath Cafe now do a smaller cut of beef, which is very yummy, but still 200g of beef. so just don't eat it all!
Take a couple of bottles of water with you, and buy another one at lunch and dinner. Take your crispbread allowance with you as well - just use Vitaweats rather than Saladas so they don't eat up a crushed mess in the bottom of your bag! and take an apple along as well so that you have something to eat as you are going.
Don't stress too much - I have found when I relax about eating out, I end up eating less and better choices. When I feel stressed, I end up choosing something that is a bad choice and then cause I've stuffed up, I choose more bad choices!!!
Enjoy the day - make the most of every minute and let food move to the background!

I agree dont stress, I think Cohen consultants like install the "deviation" fear factor.. Big picture is "Low/zero starch, low fat, low sugar, high quality protein, leafy vegetables and not too much". Going to most restaurants you will find something that you can match or adapt, "best fit" to Cohen.

The foods at a movie theater however probably cannot be adapted, nothing can transform hot-dogs, donuts, icecream and popcorn into Cohen friendly food, so if possible buy something elsewhere and bring it with you or eat it before. When I go to a movie I normally bring something Cohen along.
