Urgent Advice Needed!!!

I have been training now quite regular for a few years and recently i have taken up kickboxin which i am totally into and would love to go on to doing my belts. I have like, mmm, a MAJOR problem tho. I have just found out i'm pregnant and know that this sport is too much for my condition. Some one please tell me i can improvise and still do it. I need some decent advice on how far i can push my body without doing my baby any harm. Please help!!!

thats something only a doctor can give advice on, i would think you could still be involved just not at the same level as you would if you werent pregnent.

Personally I would not continue kick-boxing while pregnant.

Is this your first baby? If not, did you exercise during your previous pregnancy? You know your body best, and what you can handle.

I totally agree with Chris though - you DEFINITELY need to talk to your doctor. Most will tell you to continue your normal routine, however kick-boxing is a little tough on with a baby in your belly. ;) As your pregnancy progresses, you will be less and less able to do the abdominal stuff too.

Best of luck to you! :)

There are definitely some things you cannot do. But you can be physically active. The rule of thumb is, if you have not been on a fitness program before getting pregnant, don't choose to start after getting pregnant. If you have been active, you can continue, but with limitations. Like one of the other posters said, consult your doctor. Common sense tells me that you probably don't want to participate in some exercise in which you receive blows to the body though.

I agree with all the posts above and feel Kickboxing is a little too hard on your baby and yourself during pregnancy. Moreover, during the first trimester you need to be extra careful. In my case, the doctor ruled out even jogging which I had been doing for only god knows how long.

Enjoy your pregnancy :)

yoga is really good for the baby and you i dont suggest you do kick boxing as well you can still do some excersizes but its very limited i suggest checking out yoga its great
