upper back pain

i did some press bench with dumbbells. then i followed by doing some cuban presses. but halfway through the first set of the cuban presses i felt some pain near the upper back body of the spine area. the best way to describe the location is to draw a line from armpit to armpit and right at the middle.

i don't know how to describe it, but it still hurts a bit. when i tilt my head forward, the pain area is felt.

???? i couldn't finish my workout because it was very irritating.

Though this thread is quite old, the same injury happened to me just this afternoon, any advise based on your experience?
 
I don't know how bad your injury is - it could be a tear of some sort, only a doctor or physio could tell you. Personally I find my back muscles get quite tight in this location. If I don't remember to stretch them out throughout the week some movements can cause me pain during my workout....perhaps this could be the same for you.
