Unusual Chest Sensation After Weight Loss

I have lost over 60 pounds (260+ to 198 toward goal of 175) using a medical meal replacement program. I feel generally fantastic, my former high blood pressure has normalized and no longer take Lisinopril. I had an EKG at the start of the program in late October and another last week; both results are normal. Starting about two months ago, I get an occasional sensation in my sternum and upper chest area. I have categorized it as “shortness of breath,” but really it’s not that. It is not painful, more concerning mentally as it is a new sensation and I don’t know what’s happening. It generally only happens – or at least I only notice it – when resting, say sitting at my desk typing. I don’t experience it when doing cardio exercise, and in fact getting up and walking around tends to make the sensation go away. My doctor is a bit stumped, as my EKG, blood pressure, and all labs are normal and ideal. One thought he has is it could be my body, skeleton, and organ settling into a new space, whereas there was formally a lot of fat to hold things differently. I realize this is a fairly vague description of what I’m experiencing. But based on this, does anyone have ideas as to what this may be?

Perhaps there was an infection in your heart muscle. Or maybe a blood clot that traveled from your leg to the lungs -- that would cause pain, though shortness of breath that would accompany such a clot. Or could he have a metabolic abnormality? Too much thyroid hormone could speed up your metabolism and cause weight loss. It might also weaken your heart.Better to consult your physician as soon as possible.
