Weight-Loss

So last year I was obese, with a 40" waist, and 90kg...I started going gym for a year, with intense weight training and cardio, lost 20kg, and dropped 8" of my waist... But I FINALLY found the reason behind why my immediate family has the problem of a big belly...

Whilst I was eating a home made meal, one thats made almost daily, I realised something wasnt right, so I decided to do a little research on whats inside this meal... These are the ingredients
. An entire pot of Tesco Double Cream (600ml)
Source:
100ml has 467 calories! And 600ml was used, you do the maths! Its pretty much pure fat
. Spices for flavouring, I dont know whats exactly used
. Chicken breast pieces - Dont know the calories
. 3x Pitta bread - about 130 calories per pitta bread

So everyday nearly, this is whats made for lunch and dinner, apart from Thursdays and Saturdays, where Tofu is used instead... Im pretty sure this is the root cause for the belly's and fat in the family.. Ive nearly lost my belly, but im also sure this is hindering my progress with wanting to get ripped...

I know it depends on portion, but seriously - are there any healthy alternatives to this? This is more of a rant, im just quite annoyed at the fact ive been eating this fat loaded stuff :(

Well there's 4 options for you here.

The first option is not change and carry on the same recipe. I don't advise this :)

The second option would be to switch creams, Elmlea is a lower fat cream that most own supermarkets and even changing to single cream would benefit.

Creme Freche is probably the obvious alternative and wholemeal pitta would be a good idea.

I'd suggest having a completely different meal. Try googling "healthy chicken curry" etc, you'll be surprised what you find.

Good luck.

My suggestion would be to use a lowfat Greek yogurt or something to that effect instead of the cream. I use yogurt as a sub for cream in a lot of recipes, and I rarely have trouble.
