Uneven/unequal results?

Okay, I've been starting to work out a few times a week for the last few weeks. Watching the diet (for the most part) and all that good stuff. I do feel trimmer/leaner, albeit I have more to go. Things are starting to fit better (or fit again!). :p

From the building muscle point, I know I am gaining. My arms fill the sleeves much more than before. However, my right arm is larger. Now, I am essentially ambidextrous. I do write, throw, etc. with my right, however when it comes to physical activities, I'll use either (i.e. carrying full plastic grocery bags is typically a left handed ordeal). However, my left doesn't fill the sleeve like my right.

How do I know this? No, I haven't measured. I don't have a soft tape to measure. However, I do have the sleeves of the shirts I work out in. Basic cotton military issue t shirts. The cuff of the right sleeve is snugly fit and filled on my right bi/tri. Not so on the left. I'd argue roughly an inch or so difference.

I perform all of the same exercises (including non arm focused exercises) with both sides. What, if anything can I do? Logically (although it may not be best, but it makes sense to me) I have started doing more curls with my left than right. I'm unfortunately limited on weight (25 lbs max) at home, so I do an extra set or two with the left. I just started this a couple days ago, so nothing obvious yet. My left tri I feel is relatively equal to the right. It's the bi that's not.

Is my solution reasonable? Does anyone have any other ideas?

Well, it's natural to have one bigger than the other (i would actually measure them to be sure). It's possible that, since you use your right arm for more active things, that your right sleeve is more stretched out. But, anyway, doing exercises with dumbells instead of barbells, will stop the dominant arm from helping out the other when it comes down to the wire. You can do extra exercises if you want, but if you do weights for long enough (like a year), they will slowly balance out.

Everybody has some imbalance between the sides of their body, some more noticable than others. As you increase your overall muscle mass the imbalance will become less noticable, although it will always be there. Art Jones (the inventor of Nautilus) always used to say that doing a few extra sets was the worst thing you could do for this problem, because you were more likely to overtrain that part and inhibit growth!
