Unblanced Legs

Hey, I have a question. First of all let me express the fact that I'm a very fit person. My caves are in good shape, amazing shape actualy. My problem is my upper leg area. They've been large my whole life and in my opinion they slow me down when trying to run.

I've been noticing a lot these past 1-2 years that shorter, less fit people have been beating/competing with me when I feel they shouldn't be.

If it's nescessary, I'll post some more advanced measurements, but my basic stats are:
14 Male
5'7"
135lbs
Size 8 shoe if it matters

So yeah, if there's any other measurements you guys think I should list, please tell me. My overall goal is to lose some fat in my upper leg/thigh area and replace it with muscle to increase my running speed.

PS: Would my "condition" affect stamina? Because I've noticed it's a little lower than my peers. I can tell because after we do our running at school, I seem to be breathing heavier than those who have similar body features as myself.

Thanks,
Eggo.

If your goal is to increase running speed, don't go about it by doing what YOU think you need to do (i.e., lose weight, gain leg muscle). Do some research on sport-specific training. Read what successful runners/sprinters eat and how they train to achieve your goals. Don't just try to apply general fitness advice to a very specific topic.

Thanks Maveric, I WILL look into that but I still want to do what I stated, because most of my fat is in my upper legs/thighs and I don't like looking at a person with big thighs, enormous (strong) caves, a decent gut and strong arms/back/shoulders in the mirror, it's been a goal for quite some time now, just don't know about how to accomplish it.

You can't spot reduce, which means you can't lose just your thigh fat...sorry. Conditioning has just about everything to do with stamina, that's what it is. If you want to be faster, go out and run.

It sounds to me like you lead a semi-sedentary life and you might just have a decent build because of genetics. You assume because your thin you should be fast, but that's not the case.

Get out and run
