as long as your body is moving, it doesn't really matter what exercise you do... you should do some cardio, and that can be as simple as just walking for 30 minutes a day. If you feel up to it, jump rope, go for a jog, go swimming, play tennis, ride a bicycle.
Weights are good in addition to cardio, it gives you strength training, it's sometihng you probably want to do on alternate days as your cardio
