If you're worried about mercury, and tuna does contain higher amounts than some fish, stick with salmon. It's one of the lowest in mercury contents.

ewwww canned salmon is sooooooooo gross hehe
I know what you mean. Last week, I opened up a can and then wondered why I had bought it. I had to pick out some bones and it didn't seem to have been properly skinned either. However, I have also had canned salmon that was a lot better prepared, i.e., it was all good salmon meat and none of the garbage, sort of how you expect a can of tuna to be, except salmon.

I hope I can remember which product I bought that was the good, not-gross kind. It did cost more, but now I know why it was worth the extra price.

Anyway, I get my omega-3's from fish oil pills, so I don't really need regular salmon or tuna for that. If I can find the good canned salmon again, maybe I'll stick with that. Otherwise, I guess I'll stick with canned tuna and fresh wild salmon when I feel like eating fish.
