Putting the weight on shouldn't be hard, obviously though I want this all as muscle. I have a training regime after hiring a personal trainer and she has really put me through my paces, never ever had such intense workouts (Even when on my own - I only meet once a month to review progress). I feel like I am finally having awesome workouts that will make a difference.
Anyway she has told me to up my calories to approx 3000 a day from 2500 so that I can put the weight on. I have a fair understanding of what to eat and what not to eat and focus mainly on fresh meat and fish and plenty of fruit and veg. She said to have some brown pasta and brown rice too when I can and also think about having a small amount of nuts as snacks as some contain good protein.
What I am wondering about and forgot to ask is whether or not it is okay to have pasta on:
A) Days I am not lifting weights (I do cardio 6 days a week though)
B) AFTER I have been the gym
I worry if I have pasta after I have been the gym it may stunt my progress in terms of burning fat? I wouldn't have pasta after an evening workout but on a weekend morning I workout usually and I am out at around lunch time and wondered if pasta and rice are alright at this time.
I will be seeing her soon anyway so could ask her these questions but would also like the opinions of others on this board too.
