Hi guys,
New poster here. I am climbing Mont Blanc in less than 3 months so really need to be getting fitter for it. I have been doing lots of running but no real improvements. I figured if I perfect my diet and lose weight I will find the running easier and thus be much fitter for climbing Mont Blanc.
I am a 21 yr old male, 14st 10lbs and 5ft 8in. Ideally I'd like to be about 14st by mid August, in time for my accent of Mont Blanc.
My story so far.... Until about a month ago I was running nearly every day since January. I was getting slightly better but for that length of time I didn't improve much at all. I couldn't even run a pain free 5K, and I couldn't run it in under 30 mins even after 4 and 1/2
months training. To try and get better at this I feel I need to get my weight done.
My diet at the moment (Mon - Fri).... As of last Monday I have yoghurt and mixed fruit comprising of chopped banana, halved strawberries, raspberries and blackcurrents (when available) for breakfast. I get this from a fruit bar in my work.
For lunch I have a Caeser Salad pack from Co-op which has something like 404 calories in it.
For dinner I tend to have protein and vegitables, with maybe a little carbs.
In between all this I've started drinking loads of water and have the occasional cup of tea or coffee with skimmed milk and no sugar.
Saturdays and Sundays I find hard to stick to a healthy diet, although this can easily change if I put more effort in, which I will starting this weekend.
With the info I have given above am I likely to start losing weight when combined with my running and trips to the gym to do weights 2-3 times a week?
Any advice or feedback would be much appreciated
