Hi everyone, I have been here for a couple of months now. I started out at 339lbs, 5ft 3in. Very obese. I have weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 293lbs...46lbs down since Jan 5th. I started my life change on that day and I've had my struggles in the past 4 months, but my success shows it all. The reason I'm writing this today is that I began this journey by just making better choices and moving more. But My Brain has been pre-programmed to tell me less is what I need to lose weight. So I'm sure I was eating about 1200 calories a day in the beginning which of course will see results. But I've been told on this forum I need to have about 2000 calories a day for the best weightloss results. I want this to be healthy and FOREVER this time. So I trusted the words and the process...even with fear of gaining back a few pounds while I regulated. I actually held the same weight for the past two weeks, and I continued to eat more, and snack between meals....this is HUGE for me, I hated to snack in the day...felt like it was not going to work!!! But I weighed today and it has worked, I've eaten around 2000 calories a day, exercised and now I'm back on the weightloss wagon again! 4lbs down this week. I just thought some people might be scheptical as I was, but TRUST THE PROCESS...eat within your range, don't mess up your body, eat well, exercise and feel great! NO NEED TO STARVE! I'm happy and grateful for all of the support i've gotten here. THANK YOU! I'm down 46lbs now, but this picture is of me at 37lbs down...new ones to come.

congrats on your weight loss journey so far :)

keep up the good work!!

I also went through the same process on this website. I was eating too little for my size and ultimately had to increase my calories, which was against everything I thought I knew about weight-loss. That week I lost 5 pounds. It was amazing!

Even more so, I now have tons of energy for my workouts. Running was a true challenge before I increased my calories - I hated it! But now it is one of my greatest pleasures to hit the trial and RUN. We have to feed our bodies in order for them to function properly; we just need to know what kind of fuel to put in.

Well done on your weight loss so far - and you are so right, it goes against all that most of us thought we knew.. but you really do have to trust that process and eat more often, and sufficient for your body!!!

I have only been doing this for a week, and already I feel the difference in how my body feels, and not once have I felt deprived or starving, as I ALWAYS did on diets! I have also lost 3kg to boot!!!
