Tropical Storm / Hurricane Fay

Flyinfree and I look like we are in for an @sswhoopin' from TS/Hurricane Fay here in west-central Florida (US). Stay tuned!

Good luck and be safe!

don't you guys have "Hurricane Parties" down there?

My cousin is getting a case of beer and kicking back enjoying the show. LOL

hey! if we time it just right, we can set some new PR's for running and biking. the tail wind will be perfect for that.

:(

the truth is, I really get a major anxiety attack over this stuff. :(

we sat awake all night for I think it was Charley, listened to wind howl, and stuf hit the house, and it was as scary a thing as I ever been thru.

the terrible thing about Hurricanes is the anticipation, and then IT'S REAL!

eathquakes were a surprise, then they were over
tornadoes were a loud noise and then overwhelming and over!

hurricanes are coming, and coming, and coming, and then they are here, and here, and here, and for hours and hours.,.... :(

me no likey at all

FF

There is a time and a place to get liquored up, but imo a hurricane is not it - too much to do (pick up all the loose debris around the yard, get the generators out of storage, fill up the cars with fuel, etc.) But, each to his own. That tradition is alive and well in the Keys.

I think I would be a bit too nervous to be getting drunk. No need to be so hammered you just laugh at your roof being torn off. Or mocking the 20 foot storm surge coming right at you.:p

and with hurricanes you also go thru - wtf it didn't even come, and I went thru anxiety for nothing....

they "blow" on all "fronts!"

ahhahahaah the pun was intentional.

We’ve had it pretty bad in the UK too, last night one of T-shirts was blown off the washing line and today it’s getting so bad people will have to start putting their umbrellas down.

Put do you here us Brits complain?

You UK folks don't know jack sheet about storms. Ya'll are still talking of the
"Great Storm of 1987" that was equivalent to a Cat 1. Give me a break; Florida had 4 Cat 1 or better storms in 2004 alone.:)

You should be more sensitive before you open your big mouth! I lost a slate off my roof in that storm!! It took me a full hour to repair all the damage not to mention my poor old mums Sunflower that got bent over. The thought of the devastation still brings tears to my eyes to this day

How are you all faring down there today? :(

Fay never made it to hurricane strength; she is still a tropical storm with up to 60mph sustained winds. It looks like she will veer east of Tampa where Flyinfree and I live and give us some winds and a bunch of rain. There is a chance that she will go to sea, gain strength, and come back as a hurricane and kick some @ss.

Typhon, I'm an insensitive sob. Sorry your mum's sunflower plant was damaged.:)
