Every significant birthday I try something cool which takes training. This year is my big 60 in Sept. I would like to finally do an Olympic distance open water Tri. I weight train 5 days per week. Mtn biking takes care of that part. I run as a cardio finish to weights and will begin trail running soon. My problem is swimming. I used to swim in Hawaii daily but now here in CA the water is cold and even with a wet suit it is not a fav of mine. The local high school pool is crowed with weird public hours.
I could use some training tips for swimming and has anyone ever tried the harnesses for swimming in a small pool?
I'm 6'3" 194 lbs 12% body fat and a real gym rat. Along with weights I do body weight routines and am always reading this forum for great info.
