Treadmill ?

Do Treadmills really help to lose weight? I am thinking of getting one, I have never used one before but it is too cold to walk outside now and the summer months here are really humid. Has anyone here had success with one? Thanks in advance. :)
 
Lots of the people on this site use various exercise machines. I use a stationary bike myself, and I know at least a couple use a treadmill. Any exercise at all is great for weight loss, but only if you do it enough.

"Enough" varies from person to person, but you should find a level that a) you can maintain for at least 20 minutes at a time, and b) makes you actually sweat! Once you find that level, you should work your way up from it, either in terms of time, or difficulty, or even better, both. You should also exercise at least three times a week, and the more often you do it, the better!

Also, its generally recommended that you see your doctor before starting exercise regimes, especially if you have any preexisting conditions.
 
tredmill = weight loss

i have been going to the gym for last 2 mounths and i have lost 28 pounds! 4 times a week 1 hour or less each time and i spend abot 40 min on tredmill wlaking at 3.5 and incline at 8.0 then i do the stair stepper for like 15 min.
i would segest using manule on the tredmill reather then fat burn or cardio.

Hey you guy's! Thanks for the advice. I just got the Treadmill this week :) and plan on setting it up after the new year. I can't wait!! I will let you know how it goes, Happy Holidays Everyone!
