Treadmill

I have been looking around for a treadmill that has the maximun cost of 300 and I found one. It's a Weslo Cadence 450 CS Treadmill. If you have used a treadmill give me some feedback. Is it worth the investment? I cannot just go outside and run so this is why I need a treadmill. Have anyone used the Weslo one? Does it work good? Pros and Cons? :)

Hi, I bought a tredimill a while back, on the same day my friend bought a gazelle...(mine is image 10.0 and I pd about $325) My friend used my tredmill 1 time and the next week she went out and bought one. I would say it was definately worth the $!! I was going to get a cheaper one but this one has 4 different programs on it, and can also be hooked up to the internet for more programs. I haven't actually hooked it up, but having a variety of programs really help me to use it - not to sit there and collect dust. It's great for me because I can actually "jog/run" w/o people looking at me and making me uncomfortable....

Are you sure the treadmill is going to be good for only 300? Most good quality treadmills are more than that. You should get one that is very sturdy, and make sure oyu test it out for 10-15 mins before deciding. You might change your mind after the small workout.

i would look into getting a used one, if your budget is small. Gyms often sell off their old ones for a decent price and are of very high quality. Of course, testing them ofr 10-15 is a must.

Symptoms of Low Quality Treadmill?????

I was out of town last week and ran on the hotel treadmill (in that tiny little room witht the four 5 lb blue and pink weights and the TV).

Anyway, usually I do 35 minutes (including 5 min cool down) on the eliptical and 25 minutes (inlcuding a 5 min cool down) on the treadmill at the gym. Since all there was was a treadmill, I did 35 minutes on the treadmill (incl 5 min cool down).

IMMEDIATELY on getting off my calves were KILLING me. :( I don't just mean sore, I mean painful. This was Wednesday, but Thrusday I had a noticable limb because I just could not stretch them out. Finally, the pain and extreme soreness resolved on SATURDAY.

WTF could have caused such an extreme reaction? My hubbie thiks that it was the treadmill, but it seemed like a normal treadmill and it didn't hurt while I was running.

TIA

not sure what u said, was it noticeable limp? let me see.... the only time my calves hurt like hell was when the weather turned cold and i tried walking outside (not a treadmill). did u stretch first? maybe the treadmill was already on an incline and you didnt notice?

Consumer Reports is a good place to start.
