Treadmill/Crunches.... 15 Year Old Male

Hi, i was wondering if beginning a treadmill/crunches workout routine would be at all effective by itself. If i was to run roughly 3 miles a day for 6 weeks, coupled with doing roughly 100-200 situps a day. (Doing more as i progress). Would I see any physical changes, and what might they be?. I understand that with proper diet this would be far more effective but that isn't really an option right now. my goal is to become more lean, im not that interested in gaining lots of muscle mass.
Please tell your opinion.

......Why is a proper diet not an option?

Even without a proper diet (which would help a lot) you will see a big gain in endurance if your not already a 3 mile a day runner. Your abs may be a little more visible but a good diet is needed for a large improvement.

Like they said, proper diet is essential.

However, I think you should also change your running as well. Do some intervals such as sprints, hill sprints, bleachers, high rep bodyweight squats, fast paced jump roping, etc. Of course, that's if you're able to - you might have some kind of problem I don't know about.

Since you're 15, I suggest bleachers. They're great to do in intervals. Just make sure to go 100% when running them - don't cheat like a lot of people do and just "jog" up.

Also, that many crunches is absolutely worthless. You'll gain endurance, but not much else. I have a page on my website ( that you can find many other options for ab exercises. If you're really stuck on doing crunches, at least do them weighted.
