Training when I have a Cold

I have a bit of a cold this week - sore throat, congestion and general feeling of poo. I took Monday and Tuesday completely off - sat on couch drinking tea and watching bad horror movies with the cat.

This morning I met with my trainer and during my total body conditioning workout I didn't feel that sick, but about an hour afterward I felt like poo again. (I am at work now)

Tonight I am supposed to meet with my group and coach for drills and intervals.

I can't figure out if working out makes me feel better or if working out just makes me feel much worse later.

I was thinking of just doing the warm-up, and the drills (which are not that taxing), but not the interval training.

I'm just trying to figure out whether working out will help or hurt my cold. AMC will still be showing their horror movie marathon tonight.

The all time best thing you can do to get over a simple cold is rest. Your body wants you to rest so it can fight this thing off. If you start running around fighting the cold goes on the back burner for a while, while your body concentrates on sending enough blood/O2 to the muscles in need.

Watch your movie, hit the gym hard next week.
