I am currently training for track season, and I think what I am doing would be fine but I'm wondering if there would be a better way to train.
I am 15, 118, 5'9. I've been running for 3 years for my school, in cross country and track.
This year in cross country I was running 18:50ish 3.1 mile. I run a 5:00ish mile, and I havn't timed my 2 mile or 800 time for years.
This year in track I plan on running the 2 mile, 1 mile, and 8:4 relay, switching off between 2 of them in meets depending on who were facing.
Cross Country season just ended and I plan on staying in shape, i've been living by this goal, and running everyday, I pretty much do what i feel like, normally a week will have 3-4, 3 mile runs. 1-2, 5. and normally 1, 1 mile speed work. Every once in a while i'll throw in a 7 mile.
I've stayed in good shape since the end of 7th grade year after track, and havnt stopped running on a constant basis, so i can take some hard runs, but if you have any insight to what I should do to maximize my running.
P.s. After i run on a track, or on concrete my knees hurts bad, I can walk but its like a throbbing pain, is there anything i can do? I went to Peak Performance, a runner store and they checked how i run for my shoes, and i spend $150+ on them.
Thanks for any help,
Neverlife
