As the tittle says I am training myself for the BUDS (Basic Underwater Demolition Seal Training). Here is my introduction page : http://training.fitness.com/new-member-intro/hello-maryland-32509.html
I don't have a shipment date yet because I haven't fully signed up yet. I want to be here for the full summer as it will be my last summer with friends. From talking with my recruiter I plan to sign up at the end of August and I will be leaving around the 1st of the year.
Here is my situation: I currently weigh 158 lbs. I think I would break in half if I went straight into training at that weight. I would like to get up to 170-175 by the time I would ship out to basic training and then BUDS. Since joining the forum I have been eating my weight in grams of protein but still havent seen any weight increase. I am also eating 3000-3500+ calories a day.
Here is what my current workout looks like:
Monday: Upperbody workout for an hour
Volleyball for two hours
Tuesday: Lowebody workout for an hour
Run two to three miles
Wednesday: Volleyball for an hour and a half
Basketball for two hours
Thursday: Upperbody for an hour
Run two to three miles
Friday: Lowerbody for an hour
Saturday: Usually just do random workouts with dumbbells
Go running on the C&O canel for 4-6 miles
Sunday : Day of rest
My brother told me if I am trying to put on weight I should really limit cardio to twenty mins a day at the most. So my question mainly is for the next few months I would like to do a lot of cardio while still lifting and try to get up to 170-175lbs in weight. I really wanted to take on a marathon like training style to get my cardio endurance for BUDS. Is this possible? I'm open to any suggestions! Anyone recommend some healthy food that can help put on weight or anything with training. I need everything. Thanks
