training for a relay-marathon... need fast ideas

I went home for spring break and my dad told me that I am going to be participating in a relay-marathon in may! I ran one a year before but had more than a month to train for it. How should I train for it... should I just start off running the miles and slowing pick up the pase?

What exactly is involved? Is it an actual marathon distance of 26 miles or is it split up between several people?

You're going to want to pick exercises that most closely resemble the workout you're going to be doing. If you're going to be marathon running (long distances) then endurance is key. If you're going to be sprinting, like most relays, then you'll want to look at high intensity intervals.

I am training for a relay marathon, the thing is that I should have started earlier but I just found out. It will be easy to run the relay part but I want to have the endurance for a quick pace... at the moment I do a lot of the bike at high intensity and running. Should I be focusing on more intense running and cross- traning on the "day off".
