Hello, this is my very first post and it seems like a very friendly environment we have in here. Here is my story.. when I was in 8th grade I was approx 5'9 and 205 lbs. By the time of my sophmore/junior year I clocked in at about 5'11 and 170. I'm now 19 years old and I can't help put notice shadows catching some cheek fold action going on(not something I want at my age...) It's somewhat discouraging to lose that weight and have to deal with that factor. I'm at about 175 now and am considering putting a little bit back on just to fight the saggy cheek factor. Anyone have any advice? (besides surgery)

Thank you

Brian

You're saying you have some extra skin? At your age, unless its really excessive, should go back to normal over time. Remember the skin continually regrows itself from the inside out. May take some time but just be patient.

sounds like you just need to tone up a bit. at your age i wouldnt worry about not being able to bounce back, your skin is still very elastic at this point. your weight sounds good for your height so i dont think you should gain or lose. if you must gain, do it with weights. you dont want to put fat back on!

Definately - start yourself off with a bit of weight training. I've got the same problem along my stomach but it has healed better since last July because I am so young like you - we're lucky.. just keep your skin moisturized and it should bounce back. Congratulations on the weight loss!

I do go to the gym somewhat often for weight training and cardio. I am just concerned about my face.. but I do think that being my age will help out a little bit. I just figured that I lost too much fat from my face and my skin doesn't have any support for it so it decided it would just cave in on itself. I'm not sure how logical this is.. but I do know that my problem can come from losing weight too fast.. If I put some back on so I look a bit more healthier and lose that, but slower and a controlled rate, then maybe that would help?

Best thing would be to ask your doctor before doing something like that because you don't want to put too much stress on your heart and there's other risks.

Yeah, I should talk to my doctor, but I have a feeling he will just say it is from the weight loss. I had alot of fat in my cheeks, and now it is gone. I think the only way to fix that is to put some weight back on. I'd rather have more weight on me and look a bit healthier than be thin and have what I have now. I don't know if there is any logic behind putting weight on and losing it much slower to help regain some elasticity in my face. This is very discouraging

my cheeks feel like two deflated ballons. Not good :(

My main question is: After realizing elasticity can be lost from losing weight too fast, would regaining weight and losing it much much slower while properly hydrating the body do any good?

This has been very depressing. I know half the battle is that I over-think things and make them worse in my head, but I do know that my cheeks are droopy and it greatly effects my self esteem every morning when I look into the mirror. I feel helpless because putting on weight isn't exactly what I wanted to do, but it will (hopefully) bring life to my face again.

Can anyone tell me what age for a healthy female, the skin starts to 'forget' I know this is a somewhat dumb question bc there are so many factors...I was just wondering for myself a round about guess (I have pregnancy weight, went from 110 to 145, back to 120-123ish now, still losing. I have some extra skin, its not very saggy) I did not have multiples. I just would like to know is it more likely to take months or years to go away if it does? I have been well nourished and athletic all my life, non smoker.
