Sport Too much food

Guys,

Started calorie cycling last week and changed from full body routine x 2 per week to split routine x 4 per week. So far the results have been excellent and I lost about 3% bf.

The problem is I now have a very hard time eating the portion sizes I need to be eating to get the required nutrients. It's difiicult to just get the porridge down but I also have to follow with egg whites! I still digest it in 2.30-3 hours. If I reduce my portions I will inevitably reduce the calories I'm taking in. Will this hinder my progress? Should I just stick to the amount I'm eating?

I'd give it another week or so. The carb cycling will leave you eating more on some days than others... obviously :p

I see your options as being:

- Give it another week and see how you feel

- Find higher calorie (but still healthy) foods to eat at meals. This way you can eat less volume, but still get your calories in for the day.

- Try eating slightly less volume of what you have now and see how you feel and see how your results are affected. Then adjust from there.

Oh, and congratulations on your succss!! YOU ROCK!

Well, I know it's not very accurate but my bf monitor used to show around 25.5-26% for months and months and it's now showing 22.5%. I haven't lost any weight but I'm definitely fitting better into my clothes and on Sunday wore some trousers I haven't worn for 9 months!

I'm planning to have a caliper test done at the end of next week to be sure of the exact measurement. Even if it's not 3% I'm still very happy with the fact that the monitor is showing a downward trend, something I haven't seen for many months no matter what I did.

Lynn,

Thanks you for your advice and encouragement. You rock too!:)

yeah those types of BF testors are sketchy. I can lose 3% bodyfat in 6 hours if I just drink enough water.

even skinfold calipers can be off by a couple %, in trained hands.

not to say they're worthless, just to say don't hold the bodyfat % they give you as the end-all be-all answer.

Malkore,

Thanks. I know all of this. As I said, the reading was the same for over 6 months and now there's a downward trend. I do my weigh-ins at the same time of the day to minimise error.

Frankly, I don't care what the scale says as long as I fit into my skinny jeans which I do now.
