Sport Too Many Calories?

Sport Fitness
Hey all,

Recently, I've been really trying to bulk up from a 20+ lb weight loss this summer. In September, I weighed in at 117 lb. I have been using a calorie counter and upped my calorie intake to about 2500 (Baseline) for a goal of 1lb per week. From there I factored in my weight training (3x a week, 1 hr, 150 calories a session), running (3x per week, 30 minutes, 350 calories a session) as well as an hour walk total too and from school (253 calories). On a really high day I sometimes end up consuming over 3000 calories.

Well, time went on and I weighed myself after a week. I gained 2 lbs. No problem, I thought and kept going. Two weeks later I am now 130 lbs. Now, not to say that there is anything wrong with that but I don't want too much of this weight to come on as flab. I have noticed quite a bit of a "belly" coming on and not as much muscle as I hoped. Is my calorie intake too high or is this just me?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Have you gained 13lbs in 2 or 3 weeks?

Either way its too much weight which means your putting on to much fat. The maximum you should gain is 2lb, most say 1lb a week. Keep cutting your calories down till you're just gaining a pound or so a week.

That is waaay too much weight gain the short amount of time, and most of it is fat. Reduce calorie intake until you are gaining 1-2 pounds a week.

Hey,

Thanks for the quick replies. I've cut my calories down to about 2800. I'll see where that goes. If need be, I'll drop it some more.

One question though. I just weighed myself and my weight is different from the 129.5 that came up yesterday. As of this afternoon, the scale shows 128 lb. Hmmm....is that saying something?

Your weight fluctuates several pounds throughout the day. Don't weigh yourself more than once a week.
I usually don't weigh more than once a week. I was just curious to see if it was the same.

Thanks again for your help!
