Sport Too litttle? What should I add to this diet.

Sport Fitness
First of all, thanks in advance for the help.

I just started eating better, I was 196 lbs 2 weeks ago. I'm 6'2 but fairly flabby around the chest and stomach (been taking pictures every week... will post them all when I have enough to make an awesome timeline :p) Lately I've been eating the following (or close to it) every day.

Bowl of Cheerios

Granola bar (2 poly 4 mono.. lots of carbs and some fiber)

15 mini carrots

1/2 can of Progresso split pea soup

1 hard boiled egg

Random handfuls of peanuts

and a fairly decent meal including pork or chicken breast with mixed veggies.

I also take multivitamins. My goal is to lose body fat and weight. I need to get into decent shape (physically) before January 10th when I ship out. I'd like to drop body fat before I start to bulk for obvious reasons. I can barely run a mile and a half now (if at all) so I'd like to focus on fat loss before getting stronger. (I do lift a couple times a week though, in conjunction with my cardio)

Any advice you guys half would be great. What should I add or take away. Is regular vanilla yogurt with apple/cinnamin granola and strawberries/blueberries healthy enough?

Green veg- more the better.

eat mountains of veg. It will fill you up, it has very little calories and they are packed with nutrients.

VEGETABLES ARE THE KEY!

Would frozen mixed veggies work ok? Lima beans, peas, green beans, carrots and corn? Or should I focus on broccoli and the like?

Not enough lean protein in your diet. Honestly people will debate this but I would work out and build muscle now then cut the body fat down and get toned. Weightlifting and a healthy diet will cause you to lose some body fat while tightning that flab up. Once you are satisfied hit change the weight program up and hit the thread mils. Once again my opinion...

Frozen veg are quite good, they dont lose a lot of vitamins bcos they are packed just after being picked and then frozen straight away. However, they do lose their integrity somewhat during the freezing process.
