Today was rough!

So i have been hitting the treadmill every day for about 2 weeks solid. 30 minutes at a time some times twice a day.

today i get on the treadmill, and try to jog/fast walk my 30 minutes and my legs just won't carry me as fast as they did yesterday. That is really the best way i can explain it. Today felt harder then yesterday for some reason. I still walked for 25 minutes and i just had to get off the thing.

Do i need to take breaks from cardio?

If your body needs rest, then your body needs rest- don't over do it.

Every day is too much. Your body needs a break and will begin to break down on you.

Take a break.

what was the average speed of your walk/run? and the weather conditions on both days?? i get super tired on tredmill when the humidity is high and/or i dont sleep well that night, or i run very fast e.g above 9km/hr

The quick answer is yes. Our bodies have an early warning detection system built in to signal when rest and recovery is being called for. Even the most highly conditioned athletes have routine periods of down time for their training to mitigate fatigue and injury.

The treadmill imposes a high degree of orthopedic stress on the knees, hips, and joints. Varying the type of cardiovascular exercise we perform helps in the recovery process and keeps us in the game for many years.

Periodization: Cycling the volume and intensity of training to maximize the rate of adaptation.

Example: 1 day light - 1 day moderate - 1 day hard

Getting familiar with using your target heart rate (THR) to measure exercise intensity is not only important but wise.

Taking breaks does not mean we simply stop moving and enjoying our lives.
