Tishirt's Diary

Hello,
This is my first entry into my diary. Not quite sure of what to say, besides my goals, and to request as much support as you all can offer. Wish me good luck.

Today, I had oatmeal for breakfast, a cheeseburger (Holiday leftovers) for lunch, 2 spare ribs, 1.5 cups of rice, and a salad for dinner. I snacked on 2 cantaloupe slices & 4 ginger snaps. I did about 1600 calories today. My goal is 1500 or less a day, and to walk 1/2 hour 3-5 times per week. I will try my best to make an entry into this diary each night before bedtime to track my progress. My goal is to lose 50lbs or get down to 130lbs by 7/7/07.

tishirt---- hey there. yea when you start a diet it seems hard as hades. Just remember sugar, starches, and meat all tend to have alot of calories. just try and get creative with your food. 1500 calories is a pretty good amount of food if you spend it right.......lee

Thanks for the advice Hillbillylee! I really appreciate it. Today I did really well, with the exception of this evening, which I must again blame on my husband. For breakfast, I had a bowl of cereal, I had some Ramen for lunch, 2 slices of cantaloupe for a snack, and a cheeseburger and a small salad for dinner. After dinner, I had some tortilla chips, all which total 1500 calories. I also drank about 6 cups of water. I do best when I don't eat after 7pm. But of course my husband took me out to Houlians around 9pm to hang out with friends and I had 5 wing dings and a mini cheesecake. I felt so good before I ate the extra food, destroying my 1500 calorie goal. It's okay though. There's always tomorrow. Overall, the 1500 calorie diet is not as hard as I thought it would be. It's the not eating after 7pm, which will be the hardest challenge.

always remember not to beat yourself up after you make a mistake. You should see what I did while on vacation! Ate bad almost the entire time. But I got back a few days ago, and I'm finally back on track. Keep up the good work, and just acknowledge the bad days, then counter them with more good days.

we all eat things we wish we hadnt sometimes, so dont give yourself a hard time. It can take awhile to get into the swing of it too. You'll find your way, with lots of help here.

One of the first steps to making a lifestyle change in our eating habits is to stop blaming others and start taking responsibility for what we put into our own mouth. Have you talked to your doctor about your eating habits and attempt to lose weight? It really isn't healthy to be doing this without the advice of your doctor while you are pregnant.

You do realize that the Ramen noodles have about 14 grams of fat or more in one pack?

Thanks for the advice everyone! I'm taking your advice and deciding to hold off on the 1500 calorie a day plan, for the benefit of my son's health. Instead, I will just try to eat 3 healthy meals and a couple snacks of fruits and veggies a day and continue the walking until my baby arrives. Then, I will focus and re-do my goals. As for now, I will keep it under 2000 calories and walk 30 mins at least 5 days a week.

Today I started off with a bowl of oatmeal, I had some baked chicken for lunch, a couple of plums for a snack, and a small peice of steak, small portion of pasta and corn for dinner. It's 1:36 am and I also just had a serving of Tostitos :) I walked for 1/2 hour yesterday and I plan on walking again in the morning. Good night ladies and thanks again for your support.

Today I started off with a bowl of oatmeal and some red grapes. For lunch I had some macaroni & cheese (I know, not a good choice at all, but it was calling me :) For dinner, I ate 2 pork chops and some broccoli. I had a craving for juice today, so I drank about 3 cups of cranberry juice instead of my usual water. I'm trying to make up for it right now by drinking a few cups. Once again, I had my serving of tostitos as a snack.
